Change management professionals guide organizations through change on the individual, organizational and enterprise levels, guiding them into these new and improved processes. Most organizations are regularly introducing sweeping changes, whether to improve processes, accommodate market shifts or become compliant with new regulations.
Change management is often a part of project management but the two skills do differ in some respects. Project management is about implementing the change within budget, scope and timeline. Change management is more about managing the effects on parties impacted by a project. Primarily this falls into the umbrella of human resources, but it’s also a useful set of skills for a project manager or other leader to have experience in as organizations implement sweeping changes more than ever.
ACMP’s Certified Change Management Professional™ (CCMP™) program recognizes the education, experience and skills that a change management practitioner employs when effectively managing change. It assesses the practitioner’s knowledge of and skill with change management practices, strategies and approaches. It verifies the relevant work experience and education required to qualify for the CCMP credential. The value of the CCMP credential to you includes recognition of your value as a change management professional and demonstrates your commitment to career growth and professional development. The CCMP program launched in May of 2016. Visit ACMP’s website to learn more about program qualifications.
