This course will examine the detailed requirements to obtain Canadian Citizenship under the Citizenship Act. Paralegals will learn the complexities of the principles and processes of immigration, refugee, and citizenship law in an approachable, user-friendly format. The course uses clear language, real life examples, procedures, charts, fact scenarios, and legal cases to break down and contextualize the law.
Paralegals that take this course will obtain information that will help immigration lawyers expedite cases by completing and submitting all forms and documents in a timely manner, communicating with the appropriate government agencies, communicating with clients throughout the process, and preparing for litigation, if necessary.
Three years relevant work experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
This course provides additional and supplemental training for those already in careers working such as a paralegal or legal assistant.
